NatureMill Debuts New Automatic Home Composters

Food scraps aren’t something you can normally compost in your city’s weekly garbage pick up, unless you happen to live in a small, but growing, number of municipalities which allow that. It also isn’t practical to dump food waste in your backyard compost pile unless you likel nightly raccoon visits. Some options do exist, though, for such food breakdown, with one of the latest being the new XE series of automatic home composters from NatureMill.

NatureMill recently unveiled these new composters, which start pricing around $300. The manufacturer says these composters can handle over 100 lbs of food waste per month, and include a strong motor to grind and compost the food remains “without jamming.” There’s also a filter to control bad odors and a special “heavy duty mode” for crushing what we assume would be something like the remains of a partial turkey?

NatureMill says its new XE series is also energy efficient, having estimated energy consumption on a monthly basis of around 5 kwh. This is on top of a special “energy save” mode to reduce energy consumption even further.
