One particular category of eco-focused mobile phone accessories which seems to be picking up a good number of products are wireless solar-powered Bluetooth headsets for hands-free driving. One of the latest is the new i.Tech SolarVoice 908, priced around $75.
The SolarVoice 908 is typical of similar wireless Bluetooth headsets, pairing with compatible Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and offering the A2DP profile so one can stream songs from their phone to the headset if so desired. A small solar panel built into the headset allows it to stay fully charged as long as it’s exposed to sunlight – under normal operating conditions, the SolarVoice 908 offers up to five hours of talk time or 140 hours of standby time. Other features include noise reduction for clearer calls, ear buds available in four different sizes and a wireless range of just over 30 feet.
