Continuing this week’s trend of announcements pertaining to new green portable chargers is Scosche, who offers a new version of its USB-and-solar-powered solBat charger. Digital Trends reports that the new iteration of the solBat device, appropriately named the solBat II, is now available from Scorsche’s website for $29.99.
Combining a 1500mA lithium-ion battery with a solar cell charger, the solBat II functions as follows: users charge its solar battery while on the go by exposing the charger to sunlight. Once charged, the solar battery provides power to portable devices such as iPhones, iPods, Blackberries, PlayStation Portables (PSPs) and other USB devices via a USB cord connected to the charger.
