New-York-based A.D.O. Clothing describes itself as "a ready-to-wear eco-clothing line." It focuses on creating clothing that is sweetly feminine and also eco-friendly, using herbal dyes that are free of chemicals and fabrics certified by the Global Organic Trade Standard. Started in 2008 by Anjelika Krishna, A.D.O. (which stands for "Anjelika Dreams Organic") draws its inspiration from ancient methods of Indian cloth dyeing, which uses herbs in accordance with the ayurvedic tradition. Since the dyes are chemical-free, leftover residue can be composted. All clothing is assembled in New York, and packaged only in recycled materials. A.D.O.'s goal is to be completely carbon neutral.
