This rooftop garden sits atop Chicago City Hall's 11-story office building, cooling and filtering the city's air and reducing storm runoff—as much as three-quarters of a one-inch rainfall can be absorbed by this garden before runoff occurs. Though not open to the public, it provides a cool green view to those in surrounding buildings.
