The Clearwater Festival was started in the 1960s by environmental activist and folk musician Pete Seeger as a way to bring awareness to the then-heavily-polluted Hudson River in New York state. Since then, it has grown to encompass environmentalism at large, and features music and educational programs on the shores of the now much cleaner Hudson. The Green Living Expo offers tips and tricks to living more sustainably, as well as information on various environmental advocacy groups and eco-products. The festival itself is also dedicated to shrinking its footprint, and is moving toward a zero waste practice through recycling and composting initiatives.
