When the NFL 2012 football season kicked off on Sept. 5, we featured a guest post by Amy Sinatra Ayres of the National Geographic Society pointing out that MetLife Stadium would be using the opening game to debut 1,350 brand-spanking-new solar panels, which can turn blue or green, depending on which team is playing. The post went on to touch on the general trend toward greening NFL stadiums in general, largely thanks to strategic partnerships with the big dogs in the solar industry from New Jersey, NRG — a trend we’ve been following with some interest here at EarthTechling.
