Renewable energy to the tune of six times the electricity used at all home games? It's no fantasy: at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, construction is under way on the installation of 11,000 solar panels (3 megawatts of generating capacity) and 14 micro wind turbines. The goal is to make the home of the Eagles the greenest stadium in the NFL. This project is being undertaken with help from the Eagles’ new major sponsor -- you guessed it, NRG. It is expected to be complete in late December.
